FAQ
Clear answers before the work begins.
Start here for common questions about coverage, timelines, testing, equipment, repairs, and handover.
How long does an internet installation take?
Straightforward installations may be completed within a few business days after coverage and route confirmation. Buildings requiring landlord permission, new containment, road crossings, or network extension take longer. We confirm a realistic timeline after survey.
Which areas do you cover?
Our core service area is Nairobi, with scheduled work in Kiambu, Machakos, and Kajiado. Internet availability varies by exact address, while project-based cabling, CCTV, testing, and splicing can often be arranged outside the active broadband footprint.
What is the difference between OTDR testing and certification?
OTDR testing maps events and loss along a fibre route and is especially useful for locating faults and characterizing splices. Certification checks whether an installed link meets selected performance limits. Depending on the project, both may be needed.
Do I receive test reports?
Yes, where reporting is included in scope. OTDR traces, event tables, cable certification records, naming conventions, and summary findings can be supplied digitally for client or contractor handover.
Can you repair fibre installed by another contractor?
Yes. We can inspect, trace, locate, splice, retest, and document existing routes. Access to route information, closures, patch panels, and prior reports can speed up fault isolation.
Do you supply CCTV equipment?
Yes. We can design, supply, install, configure, and hand over an appropriate system. Equipment selection depends on coverage, lighting, image detail, retention, remote access, power, and network conditions.
Do I own or rent the internet equipment?
That depends on the final commercial package. The placeholder plans assume a router is included, but ownership, replacement, deposit, and return terms must be confirmed in the client-approved package terms before launch.
What should I provide before requesting a quote?
Send the location, property or link type, target outcome, rough distances or outlet count if known, current symptoms, preferred timeline, and any drawings or photos you are authorized to share.
Can you work outside normal business hours?
Planned after-hours work can be arranged for critical environments or to reduce operational disruption. Emergency response and after-hours rates should be confirmed in the service agreement.
How do you protect remote CCTV access?
We follow secure setup practices such as unique credentials, least-privilege access, current firmware where supported, network segmentation options, and controlled sharing. Exact controls depend on the selected system.
